Supporting male predators during a femicide crisis

The Labour Party is getting so bad at politics that it hurts. Claudette Abela Baldacchino has broached the proposal to lower the age of sexual cosnent from 16 years of age to 14.

I may be living in my bubble, but public discourse on women right now is mostly about femicide, abuse and domestic violence. We are laos currentrly discussing the nagtive impacts of Andrew Tate on our society and young men.

Lo and behold, Claudette Abela Baldacchino tears down the public debate to divert us into a discussion about a proposal that would ultimately benefit male predators.

The country is getting wrecked and all they can think about is pseudo-prorgressive theatre to alienate people from the real issues.

She will be remembered as a complete idiot and total tool for this. This is absolutely not the time to discuss this stuff.

  1. Well said Mark. Claudette is an idiot if there ever was one! Does she have children?

oh we’ll have many 14 year old single mothers and we’ll need multiple DNA tests to determine their biological fathers?

    1. Actually, the number of teenage mums is ever decreasing. Generation Z is strait-laced. They don’t like drinking, and they don’t like sex. At least that is what international data seem to indicate. Not sure what the Maltese picture is like, but it’s probably similar. Their addiction is their smartphone, I think.

  6. This silly discussion about lowering the age of consent to 14 was started by a magistrate. The solution should have been obvious. Don’t prosecute teenage lovers for having sex. If a sixteen year old is having sex with a 15-year-old significant other, there is not much to be concerned about. It is what teenagers do.

However, one should not open the door to some middle-aged pervert abusing a 14-year-old child who is still in secondary school and is not yet legally mature enough to drive, work, vote, or marry. Keep the age of consent as it is and treat other cases of sex with minors on a case by case basis. I am sure someone will come up with some ‘edge case’ showing how not all cases are clear cut, but, really, it is not that complicated.

What is required is that authorities dealing with purported cases of abuse not waste their and other people’s time and money pursuing clear boyfriend/girlfriend harmless scenarios and going after real harassment and predation.
