The State Witness

I’m still trying to fully understand the incredible arc of Chris Cardona turning State Witness against Joseph Muscat and his associates. Undoubtedly, this is the choice of the Prosecutor and the Attorney-General to allow him this privilege of turning state witness, and considering Prosecutor Francesco Refalo’s very diligent work on the Steward and Vitals case, my suspicion is that Chris Cardona is helping the authorities with the case.

I would have personally preferred if it was Chris Fearne who served as State Witness, but here we are. On the other hand, this doesn’t absolve Chris Cardona of his political legacy. That’s another completely different matter which he should address politically via the Labour Party. I’m going to follow him closely.

Chris Cardona has negotiated a ‘get out of jail free card’. The word cynical does not do justice to the iniquity of this situation.

Remember what I told you yesterday about Chris Fearne being spineless? You give him too much credit, and one day you will be furious as you realise that he betrayed your trust and faith. Once Fearne is cleared (because there’s no way a labour politician will be found guilty in Malta), he will be handed an iced bun in exchange for his omerta and service to the party.
