No one in Labour understands Robert Abela

There are currently many diverging opinions by Labour Party politicians on the state of the Labour Party that are being given out anonymously to various newspapers and media. These opinions have been circulated and discussed for some time now. There is, however, one fundamental and unanimous opinion held by all Labour Party politicians: no one understands Robert Abela.

Indeed, Robert Abela has been upholding his Devil’s Pact with Joseph Muscat but even the way he is handling this pact is confusing. Robert Abela will give you a tongue-lashing upon receiving news or fact that you may have some sort of remote relationship with Joseph Muscat. On the other hand, as with regards to Joseph Muscat’s generals like Alex Agius Saliba, Robert Abela is extremely accommodating and is ready to give them everything they want. This is the behaviour of a coward.

Fundamentally, no one is understanding Robert Abela’s rational and end game. Most of the Labour’s top-brass have become convinced that Robert Abela is trying to intentionally lose the next general election. The way he is trying to set up his Party’s administration augurs for this prospects. With Alex Agius Saliba as Deputy-Leader, the Labour Party looks like a relic of a long-past that it had discarded. It’s like voting for Alfred Sant’s but instead of idiots at the helm you have Joseph Muscat’s criminal associates.

Labour is heading for a diaster in the general election and this seems to be the plan.

    Why on earth would Robert Abela want to lose the general election ?

    The only reason I can think of would be to free himself from the devil’s pact.

    Robert Abela will not last till the next election. Labour is heading for a thrashing at the next election and RA’s over inflated ego will never allow him to become the biggest loser in Labour’s history. He will jockey and manouver till he has an excuse to resign and leave. After all we already experienced various LP officials jumping the LP ship now it is taking in water from all directions. Does anybody think that this guy and his cabinet of juvenile idiots give a shit about Malta’s economic woes or future. And the fools calmouring to take over, the likes of AAS are all lining up to drink and assume responsibility of a poisonus chalice. The biggest slice of ham has already been devoured by JM, KM and KS. Soon there will be nothing but bare bones left. Robert Abela and co. will continue to fleece the country till it suits them and jump ship at the appropriate time.

    Robert Abela is no genius, but I think you overegg the pudding with your predictions of electoral doom for Labour.

    For those who are blissfully unaware of Alex Agius Saliba as it-Tander (a dinosaur from the Alfred Sant era, because he has been a lapdog of Labour and anti-EU sentiment for so long, despite his relatively young age), Mr Agius Saliba is a young, upcoming politician who currently sits in the European Parliament.

    As for Robert Abela and Labour, they still have electoral capital to burn, because they remain very popular and the next general election is still years away, so there is time to make up for lost ground. With some anti-foreigner populist policies, maybe a shiny new project, and the right amount of luck, Labour will be just fine.

    As much as I would like to see Robert Abela crash, I think your predictions of electoral doom are more projections of a desire than probability based on fact.
