Michel Barnier appointed French Prime Minister

French President Emmanuel Macron named Michel Barnier as French Prime Minister after the French-left failed to come up with a candidate since elections took place in July.

Michel Barnier is a veteran French politician having served four-times French Minister with right-wing governments, EU Commissioner and the EU’s lead-negotiator with the UK over Brexit.
