APS Bank has an Austrian banker on its board who works for Russian banks

This is who HSBC is dumping us on: rent-seekers, Labour government allies, Catholic conservatives, pseudo-business people and even Russian associates.

This is Martin Czurda. He was appointed to the board of APS Bank just this month. Martin Czurda has an extensive experience working for Russian banks and is currently also working for Cypriot banks in association with Russian bankers. This is one of the banks he is director of: RCB Bank in Cyprusย along with other directors who are Russian including Sergey Kovtun, Vadim Levin, Kirill Zamarin, Konstantin Bobrov, Mikhael Kuzovlev, Otar Marganiya, Andrey Puchkov and Natalia Solozhentseva.

Incredible, isn’t it? APS Bank wants to pretend that it is a serious bank and is even entitled to buy Malta’s only independent and liberal private bank. There’s more.

Martin Czurda has a long history of working for Russian banks and Russian bankers. When Martin Czurda worked for RZB-Austria, he gave a Russian bank a non-collateralised loan. The event was so particular that it hit headlines. Apparently, the Russians didn’t even pay back this loan. Martin Czurda was also CEO of Amasterdam Trade Bank, a Dutch-Russian bank based in The Netherlands. He was also a director of the Russian Commercial Bank based in Russia, however he never mentioned this on his LinkedIn page.

He sounds like a textbook Austrian train-wreck that launders money for the Russians: Austria is secretly a major European hub for illicit Russian money. However, APS Bank expects us to take it seriously.

For sure, I’m going to close all my accounts as soon as APS Bank completes its takeover of HSBC Malta. There’s no way I’m putting my money into this cesspit.
