John Bolton: “If you are worried about what Putin said, and act accordingly, you are giving him what he wants at absolutely no cost to him”

Former US Ambassador and Donald Trump’s National Security Advisor, John Bolton has given an excellent interview to Times Radio about Russia and Ukraine.

John Bolton has a perfect understanding of Russian aggression, and says the right things when claiming that the West is falling into Putin’s hands when it fears his “escalatory threats”.

The West has completely forgotten or is ignoring how the nuclear deterrent works, which fundamentally is based on strategic ambiguity. Eventually, French President Emmanuel Macron came to this realization and pronounced his “All options on the table” with regard to Russia. Russia never reacted in any meaningful way to Macron’s statement and it can’t, because as John Bolton says, the West’s military and nuclear capabilities are by far much greater than Russia’s.
