UPDATED: At least two Siġġiewi residents called me and contradicted Alex Agius Saliba’s story saying the notices were there already Friday early morning and were also told to remove their cars by the Police. So much for being angry.
Earlier today, I received my first call from the newly elected Deputy-Party Leader of the Labour Party, or shall I rather say, Joseph Muscat’s man.
He called me very angrily to speak to me about the story about his car which was parked in the centre of Siġġiewi’s square despite the no parking signs and the temporary enclosures. He was very angry when speaking and spoke patronisingly insisting that I should “check my stories” and whatnot.
He didn’t even say “hello”, or “how are you?” to start the conversation but immediately opened with a threatening tone and an air of authority literally starting the conversation with “Listen, you should check your stories.”
I’m not taking offense of course, I am just describing what happened. It’s Alex Agius Saliba so there is no need to be offended because we all know he is not really a serious person. In any case.
Alex Agius Saliba told me that his car was parked there on Friday before the no parking sins were set up. He also spoke to the police who told him that by then his car wasn’t an obstruction or a problem and that he should leave it there until the enclosure was removed.
I’ve published plenty of stories about Alex Agius Saliba and this is the first time he called to deny something.
