The most prolific Maltese literary academic, Charles Briffa has passed away. He was a literary academic and critic and will be mostly known for his voluminous work on the history of Maltese literature called “Il-Letteratura Maltija”.
So far today, there is no local academic who can match him in terms of the volume of work on the history of Maltese literature.
