Al-Fashir continues to hold off the Rapid Support Forces

Despite repeated and ongoing attacks by the Rapid Support Forces, the western Sudanese city of Al-Fashir has still not been captured by the genocidal Janjaweed militias. The city has been under attack and shelling by the RSF since last April, with the RSF launching several failed attempts to capture it. The Sudanese army has also eliminated several high-ranking Janjaweed militia members during this time.

Lead by Mohamed Hamdam, the RSF are funded by the United Arab Emirates and backed by the Russian Wagner Group. The Janjaweed militias (now the RSF) have been recorded for the most heinous war crimes in recent history.
