The Rapid Support Forces are massacring people at the Zamzam Displacement Camp located 15km to Al-Fashir. after having captured several towns and villages nearby including Umm Kadada and the Al-Atroun Oasis. They have also killed a woman resistance fighter called Hanadi who became an icon of Zamzam after picking up arms in February 2022 and said “Oh, Janjaweed, Iโm your men today and I will not run away from you.”
RSF militias left the capital city of Khartoum for the west of the country after losing the city to the Sudanese Army and are now fighting civilians in several areas in the west of Sudan and Darfur. The RSF regularly retaliates against ordinary civilians when it suffers military losses. The RSF have also claimed victory at Khor al-Dalib in South Kordofan.
Meanwhile, pressure is now being turned on the Sudanese government by RSF allies such as Kenya to pursue a peace process with the genocidal Janjaweed militias who today call themselves the RSF. The Janjaweed/RSF are responsible for the worst war crimes in Africa in the recent decades. The Sudanese government however is vowing to keep fighting until it liberates all the country.
