Al-Jazeera is the first foreign media to be shut down in Israel with new national security law

Last April the Israeli parliament approved a national security law that allows the government to close foreign media outlets that are considered to be a threat to national security. Last week the Israeli government shut down the Al-Jazeera’ HQ in Ramallah, in the West Bank. Al-JAzeera is funded by the Qatari government and the IDF targeted and murdered several Al-Jazeera journalists during its war on Gaza.

The IDF have killed more than 100 journalists throughout their war on Gaza which is still ongoing.
