How the United Arab Emirates made the RSF leaders rich

The genocidal Rapid Support Forces, previously the Janjaweed, are mainly funded via the United Arab Emirates by gold exports such as from the Jabal ‘Amir gold mines which are currently under the control of the RSF. Independent Sudanese experts suggest that most of the gold produced in Sudan is smuggled to the UAE illegaly.

Sudan is the third biggest gold producer in African despite having a very unregulated gold industry, with the Western part o the country and its resources being under the control of the RSF.

The UAE is also providing the RSF with its own customised weaponry and stockpiles. Below is footage of the Janjaweed militias at the Jabal ‘Amir goldmines in August last year.
