Residents of the south of Lebanon flee north as Israel strikes Hezbollah

Israeli airstrikes killed more than 300 people as it targeted Hezollah targets across the south of Lebanon. Hezbollah has fired thousands of rockets unto Israel since October 7th.

Meanwhile, residents in the south of Lebanon are fleeing their homes and heading north, with scenes that haunt Lebanon’s recent history. Israel occupied the south of Lebanon from 1982 to 2000 to fight the Palestine Liberation Organisation.

Israel intends to push Hezbollah back to the north of Lebanon and prevent the south of Lebanon from being used as a base for Hezbollah.
