Talks between the MUT and the Ministry of Education over MCAST break down: protest announced by MUT for next Tuesday

The Malta Union of Teachers has announced a protest for MCAST educators over the collective agreement, to be held next Tuesday at 11 a.m. on the Paola MCAST Campus.

In a meeting with MCAST educators, MUT told its members that the Ministry of Education has refused to discuss new proposals with the MUT over its collective agreement for MCAST’s educators. MUT was referred to the Ministry of Education to conclude negotiations with the new MCAST Principalย  who has just recently been appointed into his post. The new Principal Stephen Vella has threatened MUT with an industrial dispute unless MUT draws up a conclusive agreement with him.

The MUT is also expected to issue new directives for MCAST educators next Tuesday.
