All the good people go to Lourdes

I’ve been getting this a lot recently, and it’s probably because I have been speaking to a lot of unscrupulous people as I ask questions.

All “the good people” in Malta, apparently go to Lourdes in France to see the grotto where the Madonna appeared to a couple of poor and young shepherds or something of that sort. It’s also something our grand-mothers used to do during the Medieval era.

Going to Lourdes is a reference in the CVs of many businessmen, politicians, and criminal lawyers, which, as my sources tell me, serves as evidence of the individual’s good character.

“Imma taf kemm hu persuna sewwa, hux? Dak imur Lourdes ta, ฤงa ngฤงidlek.”
