Today marks the seventh year anniversary when Daphne Caruana Galizia was killed by a car-bomb. Hired by someone to kill her, Alfred and George Degiorgio along with Vince Muscat planned for months to kill her until they opted for a car-bomb. Currently, Yorgen Fenech is in jail awaiting trail on charges of having masterminded the murder.
So far, those who commissioned the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia have not been served their punishment, but this is not the only delay in justice. No one has yet been charged in the Electrogas case, which was the main and most high-profile investigation pursued by Daphne Caruana Galizia. The Police seem to finally be moving on this case. With a Magisterial inquiry that seems to have been concluded, the Police are following it up with their own investigation and are interrogating suspects. Once unraveled, this will be one of the most important Court cases in our history given that the Electrogas project was (potentially) the cause and source of the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia and the ensuing national crisis of 2019.
