Earlier this week, Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni claimed in parliament that Italy halted all weapons exports to Israel since Israel invaded Gaza last year, and export licenses are currently under review. European governments are currently reviewing weapons exports to Israel after Israel committed a series of well-documented war crimes in Gaza and an arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court for Israeli government officials and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is still pending.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Meloni is also seeking to establish relationships with Syria’s Bashar al-Assad to curb immigration into Europe, a move that Syrian dissidents in Europe have spoken out against.
