Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky presents a victory plan for Ukraine

Yesterday, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky presented his government’s Victory Plan for the war in Ukraine. The plan aims to win the war by the end of 2025 and is based on five main points which include,

  1. An official invitation to Ukraine to join NATO.
  2. Augmenting the war effort by allowing Ukraine to use long-range weapons in Russia, direct help from the Allies to shoot down Russian aircraft, missiles and drones on Ukraine (a type of help that Israel is provided by the Allies), and increasing its long-range and heavy weaponry provisions.
  3. A non-nuclear deterrence plan against Russia that has remained classified.
  4. Increased sanctions against Russia and increased Western investment in Ukraine against access to strategic natural resources in Ukraine such as uranium, titanium, lithium, and graphite.
  5. A proposal by Ukraine to share its troops and forces across European borders with Russia once Ukraine joins NATO.

The plan has been sent to the Western Allies including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy.

Donald Trump has repeatedly said he would be cutting off all military aid to Ukraine once elected.
