Ukrainian President makes shocking statements on US aid in Iceland: Poland still to deliver pledged fighter jets

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky was in Reykjavik, Iceland, earlier this week meeting with the heads of government of Nordic States. Following a press conference with journalists, Zelensky stated that he received a warm reception and even support by some Nordic states on his proposed Victory Plan but criticised other countries for failing to meet their pledges of military aid.

In Reykjavik, President Zelensky met with the Prime Ministers of Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. They discussed Ukraine’s Victory Plan and military aid namely on artillery shells and air-defense systems.

President Zelensky said that only 10% of the allocated military aid by the US Congress this year has so far reached Ukraine. Following his comments in Reykjavik, Zelensky has also stated that Poland failed to deliver pledged fighter jets.

Ukraine is currently struggling in its eastern front lines where Russia made recent gains.
