The Rapid Support Forces try to establish an “Emirate” in Darfur with the help of nomadic-Arab settlers from neighbouring countries

The Rapid Support Forces (Janjaweed militias) are trying to establish an “Emirate” in Darfur following serious setbacks in an offensive against them by the Sudanese Army. Activists and the tribal leaders in Darfur are opposing the arbitrary move, but the RSF is bringing new nomadic-Arab settlers into Darfur from neighbouring countries to help them support the move.

A humanitarian crisis is also underway in Sudan with up to 1.5 million at risk of famine almond other risks of diseases as many people flee their homes.
