We are currently investigating how and and what were the circumstances that lead to a PN internal document being leaked to the Labour Party. Prime Minister Robert Abela referenced this document multiple times yesterday, Tuesday, in Parliament. The document in question is a PN pre-budget document that was not yet finalised and was meant to serve as a critique to the government’s proposed budget for next year.
We consider this story of public interest because it shows that several inner members of the Opposition are collaborating with the government.
We have asked several PN MPs and officials and we have collected several names, but there is no evidence to prove these suspicions. However, in the past we did publish several stories about PN MPs who were close or connected to Labour Party personalities and allies. These names can provide an interesting context as to how and why some PN MPs may rub shoulders together.
Above it all, it is previous PN leader Adrian Delia himself who was mostly close to the Labour Party and its interests especially when it came to issues of corruption: Joseph Muscat even appointed him as a lawyer to the Malta Professional Football Clubs Association (he was also President of Birkirkara’s football team). His political behaviour changed when he resigned as PN leader and and dedicated himself to being a PN MP. There is no evidence that Adrian Delia is the suspected person behind the leaks.
