Elderly man hospitalised after argument in St. Paul’s Bay; Three suspects detained

At around 10:30 am on Thursday morning, police were called to Tartarun Street in St. Paul’s Bay following reports of a dispute. Upon their immediate arrival, authorities found a 70-year-old British man injured, reportedly following an argument with several individuals.

A medical team attended to the victim, who was subsequently taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance, where he was certified as having sustained serious injuries and is in critical condition.

Police have detained three men in connection with the incident: two British nationals, aged 85 and 72, who reside in St. Paul’s Bay, and a 72-year-old Maltese man from Birżebbuġa.

Magistrate Antoine Agius Bonnici has been informed of the case and has ordered an inquiry. Meanwhile, police investigations are ongoing.
