A remarkable €27,099 has been donated to Puttinu Cares following a 35-hour live broadcast marathon hosted by Calypso Radio.
The fundraiser, aimed at supporting patients and their families, sought contributions to purchase new sofa beds and TV sets for the charity’s apartments in Sutton. These facilities are essential for enhancing the comfort and capacity of accommodations used by patients undergoing treatment abroad.
Listeners across Malta and Gozo tuned in and joined the effort, with many visiting Calypso Radio’s studio in Luqa to contribute in person. The broadcast also featured several events, including a standout concert celebrating Maltese music. Performances by Brikkuni, Skald, Kym Pepe, Cher Camilleri, and Michael Azzopardi captivated audiences, adding a cultural touch to the charitable initiative.
Calypso Radio extended heartfelt gratitude to all donors for their generosity and praised Puttinu Cares for its tireless work in supporting patients and their loved ones during challenging times.
The funds raised will go a long way in making a meaningful difference to the lives of those who rely on Puttinu Cares’ services.
