South Korea President Yoon Suk Yeol announced martiall law yesterday evening in South Korea only to be overturned hours later by Parliament with a vote 190 in favour and 0 against. The South Korean army reluctantly tried to take control over the offices of the press and the building of parliament but were quickly turned back by civilians and opposition MPs.

President Yoon Suk Yeol announced martial law yesterday as he accused the Opposition of being captured by North Korean elements who were using the Opposition to sabotage the government. President Yoon Suk Yeol faced troubles governing the country as the Opposition kept impeaching his ministers and as of lately, blocking expenditure items from the government’s budget. The accusations by the President were made in the backdrop of the main opposition party’s increasingly pro-China line over China’s overseas ambitions, including with regard to Taiwan.
