Facebook and Instagram were down for hundreds of thousands of users worldwide today. The issue seems to have affected users in Malta, Europe and the US.
Meta acknowledged the issue in a post on X where they stated that they are working on the issues.
More than 100k reports were filed on downdetector.com around 1850CET with users complaining of being unable to like, comment or post content across the platforms.
So far the situation remains the same for thousands of users worldwide.
