Mellieħa man in danger of dying after motorcycle crash in St. Paul’s Bay

A 54-year-old man from Mellieħa is in danger of dying after being involved in a traffic accident that occurred around 5pm on Dawret San Pawl, St. Paul’s Bay.

Initial inquiries by the police revealed that the man was riding a Honda motorcycle when he lost control and collided with a stationary skip in the road.

He was transported to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance after being given first aid on site.  He was later certified as seriously injured and in danger of dying.

Magistrate Ian Farrugia appointed an inquiry to investigate further.  Meanwhile, police investigations into the accident are ongoing.

    The blame definitely falls on whoever was in charge of the works. The first sign blocking off the lane was placed 50 metres before the skip, right as you come round a bend. Considering its a bypass, with an 80km/h limit, you were left with three options, either swerve lane and hope no one is beside you, pray you have good brakes or drive into the skip.
