The Għajnsielem mayor, and member of the Nationalist Party that is in favour of the project of Fort Chambray, Kevin Cauchi is also an employee with Ambjent Malta. Fort Chambray has been handed over to construction developers to turn it into luxury apartments and hotels with the backing of the Nationalist Paaty.
Ambjent Malta is a government entity that is responsible for the natural parks and the public natural land, including the coastline. It was rebranded under the Labour government to push Labour’s green credentials.
There are many individuals who are environmentalists working with government environmental entities, and that is why they seek jobs with these entities. Kevin Cauchi, on the other hand, supported the Fort Chambray monstrosity despite being a member of the party in Opposition, and an employee with a government environmental agency.
