Motorcyclist in danger of dying after multi-vehicle collision in Naxxar

A 40-year-old motorcyclist is in danger of dying after being involved in an accident on Triq is-Salini, Naxxar, yesterday morning at about 9:30 am.

Preliminary investigations  from the police revealed that the collision involved an Aprilia motorcycle driven by a 31-year-old man from Qormi, a Honda motorcycle ridden by the 40-year-old man from Mqabba, and a Yamaha motorcycle driven by a 29-year-old man from St Paul’s Bay. A Mercedes, driven by a 27-year-old woman, was also involved in the accident.

The injured were treated at the scene by medical teams, while the two motorcyclists — the 31-year-old and the 40-year-old — were taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. The 40-year-old man was certified as having sustained serious injuries and is in danger of dying, but the 31-year-old was slightly injured.

Duty Magistrate Joe Mifsud has been informed of the case and started an inquiry, while police investigations are still under way.
