Israel has closed down the last operational hospital in the nrioth of Gaza. The Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabaila was shut down after the Israel Defence Forces forced patients to evacuate the hospital. The Hospital Director, Hussam Abu Safiya has been detained by the IDF following the closure of the hospital. Footage and images were released of the hospital director being detained.ย
ย Dr Hussam Abu Safiya is a pediatric doctor who previously appealed for President Donald Trump to intervene and stop the war in Gaza, having called Israel’s attacks against the healthcare system of Gaza as a “transgression”. His son was also killed with a drone attack by the IDF while they bombed and shelled the hospital to try and force its evacuation. Dr Hussam Abu Safiya had previously refused to follow the IDF’s orders to evacuate the hospital.
Israel is currently conducting a campaign of ethnic cleansing in northern Gaza in preparation for a permanent occupation of the area.
