I was harshly criticised for my criticism of the Malta Gay Rights Movement in the event of its support to the government’s sponsored Euro Pride events. Hopefully, this latest news story brings more perspective to the issue.
Parliamentary Secretary for Reforms and Equality Rebecca Buttigieg is pro-choice, yet she supported the Labour government’s reform to consolidate the criminalisation of abortion in the legal code. During the same time she was supporting Labour’s warped reform on abortion laws, she was preparing to spend a considerable sum of public funds for the Euro Pride event to celebrate the government’s openness to LGBT rights.
There is of course, something wrong with a government that needs to constantly whitewash its governance and reforms with millions of Euros worth of propaganda and public events.
