Ukraine President Zelensky says that Belarus President Lukaeshnko told him that Russia is in control of Belarus

In the lengthy interview with Lex Fridman (Alexey Fedotov), Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed that Belarus President Aleksander Lukashenko told him that Russia’s President Vladimir Putin is in control of Belarus, and that he (Lukashenko) has no control. The phone call took place just days after Russia invaded Ukraine and right after Russia used Belarus to launch missiles against Ukraine.

President Zelensky had protested with President Lukashenko over Russian missiles fired at Ukraine from Belarus but President Lukashenko admitted to President Zelensky that the missiles were fired from Belarus without his approval and that he couldn’t stop the Russians. President Lukaeshanko has been ruling Belarus as a dictator since 1994 and has imprisoned thousands of political prisoners. Currently, he is holding Sergei Tikhanovsky, the husband of Belarusian President-elect Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, hostage in a Belarusian jail.

In the same interview, President Zelensky also explained how President Donald Trump’s current proposal for Ukraine to capitulate to Russia is not acceptable for him and Ukrainians.
