A 63-year-old man from Żurrieq was grievously injured in a traffic accident that occurred yesterday evening at around 7:30 pm in Vjal il-Blue Grotto, Żurrieq.
Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that the man was hit by a Citroën Saxo driven by a 19-year-old resident of Ħal Luqa.
The injured man was transported to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance and was later certified as having sustained serious injuries.
The police are continuing their investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
