Draft peace agreement between Hamas and Israel says that Israel would completely withdraw from Gaza

The draft peace agreement negotiated in Doha, Qatar between Hamas and Israel includes a condition for Israel to fully withdraw from Gaza. This goes against previous Israeli plans to build a permanent military outpost in Gaza. According to the document, Hamas will also remain in power.

Israel is being pressed to conclude a peace deal with Hamas both by incumbent President Joe Biden and President-elect Donald Trump who are trying to pressure Israel to conclude a deal before January 20th.  Egypt and Qatar are involved in the talks as mediators. Yesterday, in a press conference, Qatar’s spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Majed al-Ansari gave a press conference where he stated that major issues between the parties have been resolved.

Meanwhile, Israel is still conducting airstrikes and ground military operations in Gaza, apart from continuing to demolish homes in the north of Gaza. Conservative Israeli TV show-hosts complained that President Donald Trump is forcing Israel to capitulate to all of its demands including allowing Hamas to keep control of Gaza.
