Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was in Davos yesterday where he gave a speech warning about Europe’s potential failure in countering its major security threat, Russia. The Ukrainian President warned that Europe needs to step forward to be leading alliances instead of behind lead by others and urged Europe to “establish itself as a strong global player”.
President Zelensky remarked that although Europe is much economically stronger than Russia, Russia is producing even more ammunition, and has a bigger army. President Zelensky said that while Russia has up to 1.5 million troops, but on the other hand Ukraine has up to 800,000 followed by France with 200,000 troops. He emphasised that Europe needs to be united to counter security threats like Russia, North Korea and Iran.
On Russia, President Zelensky said that Russia is becoming like North Korea and that Europe needs to increase its defense spending to counter this ever more increasing threat.
