A 36-year-old Italian man residing in Birkirkara tragically lost his life in a traffic accident in Msida late last night.
The incident occurred at around 8:15 pm in Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli. Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that the man was riding a Honda motorcycle when he lost control while driving through the tunnel, crashing into the wall and falling off the bike.
The victim was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia was informed of the case and has launched an inquiry. Meanwhile, police investigations continue to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
