Following days of investigations and surveillance, the police conducted a raid on a garage in Triq is-Serkin, Marsa, around 10:30 am yesterday morning, as part of an operation involving various units within the force. The garage was reportedly used for drug trafficking activities.
The operation saw four men arrested: a 19-year-old and a 29-year-old, both from Marsa; a 26-year-old from Qrendi; and a 39-year-old from Bormla.
A search of the premises resulted in a haul of about 100 packets of suspected synthetic drugs, 50 packets of what is presumed to be cocaine, and another 50 packets of suspected heroin. Around €3,000 in cash was also recovered.
Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia was informed of the case and has launched an inquiry. Meanwhile, police investigations continue to unravel more about the operation.
