EU High Representative announces that EU Foreign Ministers agreed on no action whatsoever over Russia’s sabotage attacks

The EU High Representative Kaja Kallas has announced that the EU will not seek retaliatory measures against Russia after a Maltese-flagged vessel cut a fibre-optic cable between Latvia and Sweden. This is the third sabotage attack by Russia against European under seawater cables in the last few months.

EU High Representative Kaja Kallas is currently presiding over a Foreign Affairs Council with EU Foreign Ministers. The issue about Russia’s sabotage attacks was the first on today’s agenda but the discussion seems to have been concluded with Foreign Ministers moving on to other subjects for the rest of the day.
