Urgent Food Safety Alert: Potential salmonella contamination in Alibaba’s Egusi Grounded

The Environmental Health Directorate, operating under the Superintendence of Public Health, has issued an urgent food safety warning.

Following a report from a local operator, authorities have identified Alibaba’s Egusi Grounded that may be contaminated with Salmonella and are advising consumers to avoid consumption as a precautionary measure.

For further details, the public is encouraged to contact the Environmental Health Services between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. at 21337333 or via email at admin.ehd@gov.mt. Additional updates and information can be found on the Directorate’s Facebook page or the official website.

    While we’re at it, can we ask the producing company to correct the label? It’s GROUND egusi (or seeds, nuts etc.), not grounded! Past participle of the verb “to grind”.
