Residents of the Sudanese capital of Khartoum are celebrating the liberation of their city by the Sudanese Armed Forces. The battle for Khartoum intensified last year, but now, multiple battles are currently taking place against the Rapid Support Forces on the outskirts of the city to fully regain control of the country’s capital. The Sudanese Armed Forces also conducted airstrikes against RSF convoys fleeing the city. Celebrations are also ongoing in Port Sudan, the current de facto capital.
The Sudanese Armed Forces have also made rapid gains in the the regions south of Khartoum especially in the Gezira region and Wad Madani. Most of the RSF units and firepower is now concentrated in the west of the country and in the Darfur region where the RSF keep trying to capture Al-Fashir without success.
Sudanese observers are stating that the war may soon come to a rapid end if the Sudanese Armed Forces keep up their fighting pace.
