Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at around 3:30 pm, at a lotto booth on Dun Karm Street, B’Kara.
A masked man, allegedly armed with a knife, had approached the cashier’s window, grabbed a sum of cash, and fled the scene. The victim, a 57-year-old woman, was left in a state of shock.
Emergency medical personnel transported the woman to Mater Dei Hospital for further observation. Meanwhile, police have launched a search for the suspect.
Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia has appointed an inquiry into the matter. Investigations are ongoing.
