Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at a lotto shop on Triq Burmarrad, Burmarrad, yesterday at around 6:00 pm.
According to preliminary reports, a man wearing a hoodie and allegedly armed with a knife entered the shop and demanded money from the cashier, a 43-year-old woman. The suspect then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
No one was injured in the incident. Authorities have launched a search for the thief, while Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia has opened an inquiry.
Police investigations are still ongoing.
