The Labour Party is turning to fascist-like Squadrismo tactics in order to shut down political meetings by the Opposition and the Nationalist Party. The Labour Party’s propogandist, Karl Stagno Navarra, is threatening the Nationalist Party’s incumbent Secretary-General Michael Piccinino that he will storm his meeting with a dozen ex-PN employees to “ask questions”.
Karl Stagno Navarra heckled Jason Azzopardi last month, and was even chided for it by the Labour Party President. On the other hand, the Prime Minister or some official within the Labour Party is probably encouraging him to keep behaving in this aggressive manner. People don’t see and consider Karl Stagno Navarra as an individual with his own opinions, but only as the Labour Party’s vessel. He’s anything but a journalist.
The Labour Party knows that Karl Stagno Navarra’s actions will be seen by the general public as a reflection of its beliefs and its character. It’s also obvious that the President of the Labour Party has no influence whatsoever and is being sidelined in favour of more unprincipled individuals like Norma Saliba and Leonic McKay.
Having Karl Stagno Navarra disrupt the Nationalist Party’s meetings is most likely a new tactic that the Labour Party will continue to use on multiple occasions as its basic democratic principles are increasingly replaced by its more criminal and authoritarian nature.
