A serious traffic accident occurred on Triq ir-Rabat, Żebbuġ, Gozo, earlier today, at approximately 2:45 pm.
Preliminary findings by the police revealed that the crash involved an Optare double-decker bus, driven by a 45-year-old man from Xewkija, and a Toyota Vitz, driven by a 35-year-old Egyptian national. The bus was carrying four foreign passengers—two men and two women, all over the age of 70.
Emergency services, including a medical team and Civil Protection Department officers, were dispatched to assist at the scene. Ambulances transported both drivers and all four bus passengers to Gozo General Hospital for further medical evaluation.
Later, doctors confirmed that the four passengers suffered minor injuries. The 45-year-old bus driver was unharmed, while the Egyptian driver sustained serious injuries.
Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
