After we pointed out that Roger Tirazona, the Head of Ethics at the Ministry of Education, was spreading Russian disinformation and vilifying Ukrainians, he wrote a short paragraph crying “character assassination” and described this media outlet as a “blog”. Somehow, he brought in Daphne Caruana Galizia into the whole thing, as if her writings about me in the days when I lived a different life, supposedly portrays me in bad light.
Well, only a narcissist would reply in this manner. No one cares who he is, and we have no interest in him either. We didn’t even write anything about his character, but the general public does care that public positions are held by responsible and qualified individuals instead. In addition, as Head of Ethics, he should understand that he should not take political positions, especially if those positions involve spreading literal disinformation. Not to mention, the fact of the Head of Ethics vilifying an entire people who are currently at war with an aggressor by calling them “easy.”
No one cares about these basic fundamentals at the Ministry of Education, which under Minister Clifton Grima, is being run by some of the most incompetent and unemployable executives the Ministry has ever witnessed.
Note that Roger Tirazona is lecturing at the University of Malta despite the fact that he doesn’t even have a master’s degree. Newly graduate teachers are even more qualified than him because recent graduates are completing their master’s degree at the same university where he teaches. Even though he is not as qualified as the teachers themselves, he is supposed to guide them on ethics.
Basically, the Labour government can appoint any unqualified individual to any public post, even in the same Ministry which supposedly is promoting the standardisation of Malta’s qualifications produced by its own educational system.
What a total mess.
As for Roger Tirazona’s character, we never even wrote a single word, but we are happy to oblige him: not by taking the effort to write his extended biography, but by simply showing the public what he himself shows to the public on his social media accounts.
