Democratic Congressman Jim Himes accused the Director and the current administration of deliberately weakening the US international security apparatus. Throughout her political career, Tulsi Gabbard consistently supported a complete US withdrawal from Syria.
When asked about her retweets of Russia Today correspondent Ian Miles Chong, Director Gabbard simply replied by invoking her “First Amendment Rights”.
The Director of National Intelligence highlighted Russia’s nuclear arsenal as one of the highest risks to global security and the US. Director Gabbard said that the Russian regime is ready to use nuclear weapons if it faces the risk of losing power. Director Gabbard explained that Russia, China, Iran and North Korea are collaborating together to challenge the US and avoid sanctions.
On China, Director Gabbard highlighted that it is a major source of cyber-attacks against the US. China is also upgrading its military and offensive capabilities in order to be able challenge the US, she said.
