A 46-year-old man from Rabat, who is a Transport Malta official, is in danger of losing his life after he was involved in a traffic accident that occurred early Friday morning in Mosta.
The incident took place at around 2:00 am on Triq iż-Żejfa. Preliminary investigations revealed that the crash involved a BMW motorcycle driven by the Transport Malta official and a Peugeot 206 driven by a 54-year-old man from Naxxar.
Emergency services were called to the scene immediately. A medical team provided first aid to the injured motorcyclist, who was later transported to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance for further treatment. His condition has been classified as critical.
Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia was informed about the case and has launched a magisterial inquiry.
Police investigations into the circumstances of the accident are ongoing.
