The Nationalist Party demands the immediate revocation of the Golden Passport Scheme

Following the decision by the European Court of Justice concluding that Malta’s Malta Individual Investor Programme (IIP) violates the treaty of the European Union the Nationalist Party has issued a statement demanding the government to scrap the scheme. This the first time that Nationalist Party has demanded the total withdrawal of the scheme. PN is also requesting the government to fully comply with the Court’s ruling.

The Nationalist Party also said that the government should not continue with its campaign of disinformation on the scheme, referring to a statement made yesterday by the Prime Minister in which he said that the EU was harming Malta’s interests and reputation. PN reiterated that it was only the government that is ruining Malta’s reputation whose scheme lead to this damming sentence.
