UPDATED: We have been informed that the Serengeti Park is owned by Brian Azzopardi and the lions will be returned to Martin Farrugia. We will be issuing a separate feature on “Serengeti Park” (Tanzania in Dingli).
Christian Borg’s lions, currently held in a rundown farmhouse in Naxxar, will be returned to their breeder instead of being taken to a natural reserve abroad. The breeder is a man called Martin Farrugia, who owns a previously illegal zoo that has been regularised into a “park”. This so called “park”, named “Serengeti” (an actual park in Tanzania), is in Dingli.
The Labour government rolled-backed its progressive animals rights agenda to legalise and decriminalise the industry of wild and exotic animals. The Labour government introduced these reforms with the pretences to allow “research”.
Christian Borg, popular for being a previous drug-dealer and also a business ex-partner to the Prime Minister, is still being allowed to keep exotic animals after dumping his pack of lions. The government ensured he was given an amnesty for failing to register his lions and even forked out the costs of their relocation and security.
The Labour government has turned Malta into playground for criminals.
