Pembroke Athleta Athletics & Triathlon Club (P.A.A.T.), Malta’s most successful athletics organisation, is proud to announce the 6th edition of the EAP Malta International. This will take place on Saturday, 14 June 2025, at the Matthew Micallef St John Stadium in Marsa.
Firmly established as a highlight on Malta’s athletics calendar, the event forms part of the World Athletics Continental Tour (WACT) – Challenger series, drawing elite-level talent from around the world. This year’s edition is set to welcome over 150 international athletes and officials representing more than a dozen countries. This reinforces the meeting’s growing prestige and international appeal.
First launched in 2019, the EAP Malta International has rapidly transformed from a promising local meet into a globally recognised competition. Since gaining a place on the World Athletics Calendar in 2022, the event has offered athletes the opportunity to earn valuable World Athletics Ranking Points. This is a crucial stepping stone toward major global championships, including the Olympic Games and World Championships.
Organised under the Events for Athletics Promotion (EAP) circuit, the event is one of 17 international meetings held across 13 European nations. P.A.A.T. remains Malta’s sole member club in the EAP network, underlining its pivotal role in raising the bar for athletics on the island.
“Our mission has always been to elevate the standard of athletics in Malta,” said the President of P.A.A.T. “Hosting an event of this calibre gives our athletes rare exposure to top-tier competition. It also enhances Malta’s position as a destination for international sports.”
With a full programme of track and field events, the 2025 EAP Malta International promises top international performances alongside a strong local presence. Additionally it’s shaping up to be a must-attend event for athletics fans and sports enthusiasts across the island.
