A 53 year old man has been arrested after a car was driven into crowds celebrating Liverpool’s Premier League victory at a parade in the city. Merseyside Police say “a number of pedestrians” were struck.
At least 50 persons were injured with around half of these hospitalized. A man and a child were in serious condition but apart from these no deaths have been reported.
Thousands of fans were lining the streets of the city to celebrate Liverpool’s Premier League title victory, with plumes of red smoke greeting the players along the way.
The Liverpool fans were celebrating their 20th Premier League title. A number of Maltese fans were also in the city for the celebrations.
